Khalid took to X on Friday (November 22) to come out as gay, after he was outed online. The 26-year-old Grammy-nominated R&B singer sent out a series of posts on Friday to address his sexuality. “🏳️‍🌈!!! there yall go. next topic please lol,” Khalid posted, before he further explained himself in additional posts. “I got outted and the world still continues to turn. Let’s get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality it ain’t nobodies business! But I am okay with me 🖤 love yall,” he posted. Khalid also replied “I am! And that’s okay” to someone who questioned if he was saying he was gay, while clarifying, “I wasn’t hiding anything! It’s just not any of your business,” in response to another comment. Khalid might delay new music he’s working on because of this ordeal, writing “honestly thinking about pushing the sh*t back, idk want anyone thinking I’m capitalizing off of this sh*t.” (Billboard)
